Problems to be aware of:

Since this book was published (1995), a lot more evidence has come to light that the supposed plesiosaur carcass (pp. 139-141) was actually the remnants of a basking shark. For example, the amino acid profile of proteins analyzed matches that of a shark; and many other lines of evidence overturn the proposition that the carcass dredged up by Japanese fishermen was that of a supposedly extinct marine monster.
