An inside look at Answers in Genesis

This month’s InSite invites you to the castle, wants you to get un-stumped, looks at life After Eden, and more.

VBS for 2013—It’s Knight Time!

Hear ye! Hear ye! Teachers and tutors, you are cordially invited to experience the Kingdom Chronicles VBS. For those of you who have not heard of this magnificent adventure, allow me the privilege of elucidating.

Through this new VBS for 2013, your charges will enter a land of towering castles, epic battles, and fire-breathing dragons. (You’ll want to watch out for the dragons—they’re quite temperamental.) Everywhere you look is adventure—and perchance a court jester or two.

Be ye warned that not all is well with this fair land. His Royal Majesty’s kingdom is under attack by the Kingdom of Darkness, and each of you must prepare your pupils for the battle. You each have a role to play.

They will not go into this fight ill-equipped, however. You will lead them through a training regimen to help them stand against the attacks of the enemy. And that preparation starts with the Book, which you may know as God’s Word.

During this exciting week, your students will learn to recognize the two kingdoms—the Kingdom of Darkness versus the Kingdom of Light. You will prepare them for battle by wearing the full armor of God each day. (Don’t worry. It definitely fits.) Your heavenly Commander—the King of kings—expects your full cooperation in preparing for battle so that you can stand ready.

In addition, you will show them how to build their worldview upon the Bible. False teachings abound in this land, and they must learn to check everything against the King’s words. To equip them, you will train their minds to get His commands tucked away inside. By the end of the week, they will know how to look at the world the way they were meant to—starting with Scripture.

During our test runs of this training, teachers have already seen great results from their charges, many of whom did not realize that a battle rages around them. Their eyes were opened, and they swore fealty to the King for the first time. We trust your results will be similar.

When will this Kingdom Chronicles VBS training course be ready? You can inspect it for yourself in the town square. Or you can order it now in our market, and our couriers will bring it to you when it is ready.

Thank you for your attention. And let the adventure begin!

A Day in the Life of the Kingdom Chronicles VBS

Excitement and adventure await from the first minute of each day when kids meet in their traveling troupes. The troupes gather at the Great Hall for the opening assembly, a high-energy beginning that includes wacky intros, lively songs, a missions moment, and prayer.

It’s then off to rotate through four fun sites:

  • Learn-a-Lot Chambers, where God’s Word is learned in hands-on ways
  • Craft Courtyard, where kids make special craft creations of their own
  • Cook’s Kitchen, where kids can feast on tantalizing treats and eats
  • Truth and Error Game, where kids learn to spot errors that the world teaches and learn what the Bible says on issues such as the Flood, evolution, and more
  • Sir Gavin’s Games, where there are plenty of Old World games with new fun twists

Finally, everyone heads back to the Great Hall for the closing assembly, where there’s more singing, testimony time, contest results, and the amazingly fun daily drama. This is situated in the royal chambers and features some regal (and not-so-regal) characters who are engaged in a classic battle between good and evil.

Kids’ Most-Asked Questions

In this new DVD Kids’ Most-Asked Questions . . . about Science and the Bible, Dr. Georgia Purdom reveals simple, Bible-based answers that parents can use with children of all ages!

Face it. Sometimes, we parents get stumped. Our kids hit us with one of those questions about the Bible or science that leaves us stumbling for an answer. But we can be prepared for those moments—without the need for multiple PhDs.

Kids need us to be ready. After all, they face a steady stream of false and anti-biblical information from school, TV, and the Internet. It’s everywhere. We have to be ready to point them to God’s Word and show them why they can trust it. God designed kids to be curious, and He gave parents the job of teaching them the truth.

But there’s no reason to go it alone—not with Dr. Georgia Purdom lending a hand. A mother herself, Dr. Purdom knows how tricky kids’ questions can be, and she wants to share some of the answers she’s learned in this new DVD Kids’ Most-Asked Questions . . . about Science and the Bible.

In this easy-to-follow talk, Dr. Purdom outlines the basics of teaching your kids by starting with the Bible. She uses her real-life examples to show how she integrates biblical authority in everyday learning.

You’ll also get solid answers to the five most-asked questions that Answers in Genesis receives from children like yours:

  • What happened to the dinosaurs?
  • Why did grandpa have to die?
  • Where did we come from?
  • Did God really create life or did it evolve?
  • Could aliens be real?

If you’ve been looking for simple ways to share the truth of Scripture, this DVD will help you deal with those not-so-easy questions. Grab a copy and get equipped.

Question of the Month

I love the After Eden comics. Where can I see the ones I’ve missed??

For nearly eight years, After Eden cartoons by Dan Lietha have been popping up on our website. These popular cartoons (now around 300 strong) may seem simple, but they always pack a big punch. Each one presents an important lesson or commentary about biblical authority. And they’re always entertaining.

You can find the most recent cartoon in several places. For example, they’re on the front-page of our site (scroll down and look in the middle), and they’re also featured each week in our Answers Weekly e-newsletter.

So, what do we do with previous cartoons? As you can imagine, we certainly don’t want to stuff them away somewhere, never to be heard from again. Instead, we keep an archive of them so that you can share them with your friends.

In fact, the After Eden archive is rolled into our entire media library. Once you’ve laughed your way through the AE cartoons, be sure to switch over to Video on Demand or Answers . . . with Ken Ham for more.
