Introduction

Over thirty years ago, our president and founder, Ken Ham, stood in a secular museum near an “ape-man” exhibit and heard a father tell his young son, “This was your ancestor.” Ken wrote, “My heart ached… As a result, my cry to the Lord was: ‘Why can’t we have a creation museum that teaches the truth?’”

God answered Ken’s prayer. Many years later, on a different continent, and in the face of heated opposition, the Lord brought together the right people at the right time with the right skills to build the Creation Museum—dedicated to upholding the Word of God from the very first verse. We live in an age when many Christians have elevated man’s word above God’s Word. So we strive to call the church back to biblical authority in every area.

More than 1.65 million visitors have toured the Creation Museum in just over five years, and we trust that hundreds of thousands more will arrive in the years to come. Many of our guests have remarked that they wish they could have spent more time here (they may be delighted to know that all tickets are now good for two consecutive days). But we know that there are tens of thousands who, for one reason or another, are unable to come to the Greater Cincinnati area to visit the 70,000 square foot, state of the art Creation Museum. So for those who wanted to spend more time here, for those who cannot make it here, and for those who are looking for more information, we are putting together a new series of articles designed to take the reader on a complete tour of the Creation Museum.

The Creation Museum

The Creation Museum is designed to take the visitor on a tour through biblical history, focusing largely on the first 11 chapters of Genesis, since that is where much of the battle over biblical truth is being waged today. We have designed the museum to explain the 7 C’s of History.

  1. Creation
  2. Corruption (the Fall)
  3. Catastrophe (the Flood)
  4. Confusion (the Tower of Babel)
  5. Christ
  6. Cross
  7. Consummation (Christ’s return and new heavens and earth)

So join us as we journey through earth’s true history at the spectacular Creation Museum with its beautiful gardens and nature trails, petting zoo, animatronic dinosaurs, and much more. Each weekly article will cover a different room or group of rooms, highlighting the purpose of the area, some of its unique features, and any updates that may have been done to the room since our grand opening on May 28, 2007. If you’ve been here before, this series will serve as a reminder of what you saw, and it may point out things that you missed. If you’ve never been here, you’ll get a good glimpse of what you’ve been missing, and you may be motivated to make the trek, if possible.

Come to a place where you can stand near one of our depictions of Adam and perhaps hear a father telling his young son the truth. “This was your ancestor—the very first man, whose sin brought death and suffering into the world. But God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son (the Last Adam) to die on the Cross for our sins, so that whoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life.”
