Have you heard the news? There is a Noah’s Ark theme park coming to Northern Kentucky! Steve Beshear, the governor of Kentucky, announced Wednesday morning (December 1, 2010) that the new theme park will be built in Kentucky.

Govenor Beshear said, “We are excited to join with the Ark Encounter group as it seeks to provide this unique, family friendly tourist attraction to the Commonwealth. Bringing new jobs to Kentucky is my top priority, and with the estimated 900 jobs this project will create, I am happy about the economic impact this project will have on the Northern Kentucky region.”1 The new park is being built by Answers in Genesis and Ark Encounter LLC. It is scheduled to open in 2014.

The theme park will include a full size replica of Noah’s Ark, built using measurements from the Bible (see Genesis 6:14–16). There will be a walled city, which will illustrate how people lived during the time of Noah. The park will also include a Tower of Babel (over 100 ft tall), petting zoo, bird aviary, children’s play area, and much more! To find out more about the exhibits, special attractions, and progress of the theme park, you can visit ArkEncounter.com.
