As summer starts coming to an end (yes, already—school is just around the corner!), it’s time for you to get shopping for next year’s Answers VBS, Mystery Island. And you can already find decoration ideas for next year at Pinterest.com/answersvbs.

Pick up anything beachy, such as umbrellas, fish décor, bright-colored tablecloths, tiki torches, beach chairs, flip flops, swim goggles and fins, pool noodles, pool floats, and tubes—you get the point. These items will be available next spring as well, as summer rolls around yet again, but, if you shop now, you can enjoy some steep discounts as most summer items are now on clearance.

This is also a great time to get the congregation involved. Ask them to shop the sales for specific items you need to decorate and store them until next year when you need them.

Be sure to record what you have purchased already, so you don’t end up with 52 pairs of flip flops because you forgot that you already bought 20 pairs for your “Surf Shack.”
