Another anti-creationist crusader wins Humanist award

Humanism is a religious faith that excludes God. Evolution, the belief that things organized by themselves, is an essential tenet of atheism. The first two tenets of the Humanist Manifesto II, signed by many prominent evolutionists, are

  1. Religious humanists regard the universe as self-existing and not created.

  2. Humanism believes that man is a part of nature and has emerged as a result of a continuous process.

See What is Secular Humanism?

It’s thus no wonder that humanists have been at the forefront of opposing creation. Probably the leading anti-creationist organisation in the USA is the humanist-founded and pretentiously named National Center for Science Education. The only “science” they promote is the pseudoscience of goo-to-you evolution, not real (operational) science—the science that cures diseases, flies men to the moon, etc. See How Religiously Neutral are the Anti-Creationist Organisations?

To demonstrate once more the essential role of evolution in atheist/humanists, Eugenie Scott, the leader of the NCSE, was recently awarded the American Humanist Association’s 1998 “Isaac Asimov Science Award”.1 The humanists understand the usefulness of evolution for their cause—sadly, they understand better than many churchians.
