11-year-old Answers Humanist Activist

“Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.” – Psalms 8:2

A song about Ken Ham written by an 11 year old.

11 year old Sam makes no bones about it. He believes that God created the universe and everything therein in six literal days. Recently, young Sam was inspired by a letter that Ken Ham sent to AiG supporters. The January letter quoted Ed Kagin, a local humanist attorney, who opposes AiG’s plans to build a world-class Creation museum in the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati area. The following is an excerpt from Ken’s letter:

A song has been composed about me by humanist attorney Ed Kagin (he was part of the humanist group that opposed AiG’s creation museum). Here are some of the words, sung to the tune of “The Beverly Hillbillies!”

Hear the story of Kenneth Ham
Australian huckster slick as jam
Left the creationists at El Cajon
To try to make a fortune out at old Big Bone.

Kentucky has a state park called Big Bone Lick
Where Ken planned something really sick
Tried to teach “creation science” near those fossil finds
To get little children to not to use their minds.

Ken’s creationists are just plain wrong
We know evolution worked hard and long
Until we humans could evolve a brain
That could keep our minds and money out of Ken Ham’s drain.

CHORUS:

Science deals with problems it sometimes solves
And sometimes finds new truths such as life evolves
Creationists have no questions and no need to look
The answer to every question is in Ken Ham’s book.

Quick to respond to this ridicule, Sam sent a song of his own to AiG, via e-mail. We want to share with you this new twist that challenges Mr. Kagin’s views:

Hi, My name is Sam, 11. I am glad you are finely able to build your new Answers in Genesis Museum. In one of your letters you placed some disproving letters and E-mail to the AiG. I’ve taken one of the criticisms and changed it around. So here it goes.

Ken Ham’s Mission (to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies)

Hear the story of Kenneth Ham
Australian teacher, Honest as jam
Left the Creationists at El Cajon
To try to tell the truth out at ol’ Big Bone

With fossils that is, Dinosaur Bones, Big ones

Kentucky has a state park called Big Bone lick
Where Ken planned something really slick
Tried to teach creation near those fossil finds
To get little children to finely use their minds

With the Bible that is, believe in it, grown ups too

Here’s what Ken says we should believe
Every kind of living thing lived with Adam and Eve
Use the Bible as proof and believe Gods news
On the ark there were Dinosaurs and Kangaroos

Animals that is, of all sorts, mammals too

Well Evolutionists are just plan wrong
We know God worked six days long
If only some humans could get a brain
They’d see evolution is a power drain

Spiritually that is, separation from God, Bye now!!
