University students “Gitt” real science!

State College, Pennsylvania is a university town in the central part of that American state where almost half the town’s population is made up of students from Penn State University.

At a church meeting in State College on Monday night, September 25, Dr. Werner Gitt of Germany, accompanied by Ken Ham of AiG, spoke in a church auditorium that seats 800, but was packed with over 1,100 people (including hundreds of college students).

“It was a very exciting meeting,” reported Ken Ham. “Here was a tremendous interest and a ‘buzz.’ A number of non-Christian students—who are constantly fed evolutionary ideas in their university classes—asked challenging questions about the Bible. I was also encouraged to see so many pastors there.”

On September 26, the duo moved on to speak at the campus of Penn State. This program—as well as the Monday evening session—was broadcast live on the web by AiG (listen online).

The attendance Tuesday was also quite good: about 800, with thousands watching live on the internet. The traffic to this website was over 10,000 visitors on each of those days.

Dr. Gitt, a director and professor of the Federal Physics-Technology Institute of Braunschweig, Germany, spoke on the topic of “information science”. He explained that all living organisms require information to function (e.g., such as the information found in the DNA molecule, the blueprint of life). He revealed that evolution has no satisfactory explanation for the origin of information, but that the Bible in Genesis does.

Dr. Gitt has been speaking across America this month in a tour cohosted by AiG. He is the author of many books, including In the Beginning was Information (above).
