“You Were the Tool God Used in Bringing Me to Heaven!”

There may be no greater privilege than to hear these words! Have you been discouraged lately, perhaps wondering whether God can use you to help “bring someone to Heaven”? Then read the following testimony of God’s grace, which a young girl e-mailed to Buddy Davis of AIG following the recent Creation 2001 apologetics conference. It’s a thrilling reminder of how God can use someone willing to use their God-given talents to praise their Creator.

Dear Mr Davis,

I just wanted to let you know that your prayer in the song “They Think That They’ve Seen You” was answered!

I was at the AIG Creation Conference last weekend [Aug. 30—Sept. 3]. I didn’t want to go, but my parents made me. Now I wouldn’t trade the world for that experience! I guess everyone wants happiness and contentment in their lives, it’s just that some people don’t look in the right place. I knew something was missing in my life, so I was into some really bad stuff trying to find it. (I’m only 13!) Needless to say, nothing I tried helped–it just made matters worse.

My parents are Christians, but that was their problem, not mine, and I didn’t worry about it. Sure they dragged me to church every Sunday and youth group but it didn’t affect me. The Bible didn’t connect to the “real world.” So I continued to look for something, anything, to fill up the emptiness inside.

Then I met you at the conference. Immediately something inside me said, “There! That’s what I want! I want what Buddy Davis has! But…uh…what exactly does he have?” It didn’t take me long to figure out that Jesus was the source of your happiness. He was in control of your life, not drugs or alcohol or sex or anything else, JESUS was! I can’t believe I’ve been so blind! This is what everyone has been trying to tell me.

I guess the reason you made the difference is because everything about you reflected God and left no room to doubt it. Not just in what you said, but in how you acted and handled yourself. Actions speak louder than words! Because of your life reflecting God, I can now say without a shadow of a doubt, “If we never meet again this side of heaven, I will meet you on that beautiful shore!” (That song never fails to bring tears to my eyes now.) Thank you so much! You were the tool God used in bringing someone to Heaven.

As I said, your prayer was answered because when the world sees you they DO see Jesus, at least I sure did! You have an awesome ministry, so take your light to a dark world and keep on shining! I pray for you and AIG every day because I believe you guys have an awesome message and the world needs to hear it! God has blessed you in the past and I think if you let your theme be “Keepers of the Word” (I think that song fits AIG perfectly), then God will bless you beyond your wildest dreams!

This God is real! Armed with the info from the conference, I’m gonna let the world know that, too. Thanx again!

What a testimony! Each one of us needs to rededicate ourselves to the task of proclaiming the life-changing Gospel message, taking every opportunity to share the wonders of God’s grace. No matter what ministry opportunities that the Lord has given you, the Lord just asks that you remain faithful. Be not weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap, if you faint not (Galatians 6:9).

Who knows? Perhaps a young person will come up to you soon and say these thrilling words, “You were the tool God used in bringing me to Heaven!”
