Q:
Why are more and more people accepting homosexual behavior as an
alternative lifestyle?
A: In the
Bible we read that God created everything. He created the first
man and woman—the first marriage. Thus, the doctrine of marriage
that is based upon the literal events of Genesis is one man for
one woman for life.

quote: Dr
Scott Todd, an immunologist at Kansas State University:
‘Even if all the data
point to an intelligent designer, such an hypothesis is
excluded from science because it is not naturalistic.’

September 1999. |
The Bible also tells us that it’s an abomination if men have
relations with men, or women with women. Homosexual behavior goes
totally against the order that God created in the beginning.
The reason people, including some Christians, are abandoning the
created order is because they have been indoctrinated by the media
and the public education system to reject man’s origins as
recorded in Genesis. Instead, they believe that man evolved; therefore,
man has a right to do whatever he wants to do.
To solve the problem of the increasing acceptance of homosexual
behavior in our nations, we need to get people back to the authority
of the Word of God.

Education question:
What happened to the dinosaurs?
Dinosaurs are used more than almost anything else to indoctrinate
children and adults in the idea of millions of years of earth history.
However, the Bible gives us a framework for explaining dinosaurs
in terms of thousands of years of history, and solving
the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them.

Textbook of the month:
Our featured textbook of this month is The
Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved!
Ken Ham, in his own distinct and understandable teaching style,
explains how to understand the big picture of earth’s history
… from a biblical perspective. He then applies this biblical
foundation to the intriguing topic of dinosaurs! The Bible actually
makes the subject of dinosaurs come ‘alive’ as their
great mystery is solved! You’ll also learn how to effectively
use dinosaurs as ‘Missionary Lizards.’

Why is there such a separation between ‘faith’ and
‘science’?
About 400 years ago, there lived an English nobleman, philosopher
and lawyer by the name of Sir Francis Bacon (1561–1626), who
is regarded as the father of the ‘scientific method.’
As did many other great men of science, such as Sir Isaac Newton,
he professed faith in God and the Bible. However, his writings,
which have had a profound influence on the whole Western world,
have achieved much harm as well. Find
out how!

Praise and Prayer
Please pray over the following items during the next two weeks
…
-
Next week, we will be mailing a special letter to our supporters
from our chairman of the board (Pastor Don Landis), announcing
a major, exciting development regarding the progress of the
construction of the Creation
Museum and new AiG headquarters. We’ll let you in
on that now (and we alluded to it two weeks ago): in September,
all four AiG offices in Northern Kentucky will be moving out to the
new facility and be under one roof! Benefits: no more lease
money to pay as we relocate to a facility that we own; less
cramped conditions for our longsuffering staff; no more dealing
with facilities that are getting old (one current building is
over 30 years old, with air conditioning/heating problems);
and so on. Please pray that there will be effective planning
right now so that when AiG moves into the new facility, its
outreaches will not be disrupted. Pray that the offices will
be ready for occupancy by September.
-
About a month ago we asked you to pray about working out some
of the ‘bugs’ with the rock façade being
added to the Creation Museum building exterior. Praise the Lord—it
seems that we have resolved the issues and the work is progressing!
You can view some recent photos of the museum (taken from an
airplane) at www.CreationMuseum.org
-
Normally, we don’t share staff prayer requests with you,
but this time is an exception. Jean Ruh—who began working
at AiG in our very first year of operation (1994), and then
became a faithful volunteer—is gravely ill with lung and
brain cancer. This sweet servant of God (a surrogate grandmother
for many of us at AiG) wants us to pray for some of her unsaved
family members during this time. Jean is calm and restful, and
totally trusting in the Lord and, as of this morning, experiencing
no pain, praise God.
