Q:
Where did God come from?
| Quotable
quote: ‘I
can’t help but wonder, are we now seeing the fruit
of education that predominantly throughout our country has
stopped performing any teaching on the basis of moral principles
or what is right or what is wrong?’
– Former president
Ronald Reagan, as reported in The Arizona Republic,
11 April 1987. |
A: It’s
important for Christians to be able to give reasons for what they
believe. If we say there’s a God who created all things, then
we need to be able to defend it.
Certainly, it’s by faith that we believe these things, but
it’s not a blind faith. In fact, we’re told in Romans
there’s enough evidence in the world to convince everyone
that God is Creator. We know that cars and airplanes don’t
just get here by chance. Somebody made them. When we look at the
complexities of life, we recognize there has to be an intelligence
behind them. Where did this intelligence come from?
The Bible tells us ‘In the beginning, God … .’
In other words, the infinite Creator God has always been and always
will be. This is the most logical scientific statement you could
ever make. If you don’t believe in God, then you have to accept
by blind faith that matter arranged itself into complex information
systems like DNA, which goes against what we observe in real science
today.
Where did God come from? God was not created; He is the Creator.

Education question:
What kind of Ark do you use? Does it matter?
They look cute, and they appear in ornaments, broaches, necklaces,
as pictures in children’s books and paintings on kindergarten
walls in churches and schools, representing the account of Noah’s
Ark. But in a world that scoffs at the idea of a global Flood and
a man called Noah who took his family and representative kinds of
land animals on an enormous boat, what
do these ‘bathtub arks’ really say?

Textbook of the month:
Our featured textbook of this month is Body by Design.
Body
by Design defines the basic anatomy and physiology in each
of 11 body systems from a creation viewpoint. Every chapter examines
different organs and structures giving evidence for design. Focus
sections that highlight the interwoven complexity between the body
systems are also included. Students are challenged to think through
the evidence—the facts as we know them today—and to
consider the statistical likelihood of molecules-to-man evolution.
The end result is an effective, interwoven presentation of anatomy,
physiology and creation.

Praise and Prayer
Please pray over the following items during the next two weeks
…
-
We praise God for the many volunteers who have been helping
out at the Creation Museum site in Northern Kentucky, including
those who have been recently taking care of the grounds. Go
to www.CreationMuseum.org
for construction and design updates.
-
Next month, we will be hosting our first ‘Creation College’
(in nearby Indiana). So far, about 460 people have registered
for this intensive training session for creation speakers (including
prospective ones), researchers and writers. Pray that as they
leave this ‘college,’ the participants will be better
equipped to impact their churches and communities with the creation/gospel
message.
-
Normally we don’t ask you to pray for matters related
to individuals on the AiG staff, but please pray for our dinosaur
sculptor/musician/speaker, Buddy Davis—he is recovering
(well) from a mild heart attack.
-
AiG is partnering with Gospel Literature Services (GLS) in
a witnessing outreach in Athens during the Olympics in a few
weeks. Pray that the additional AiG materials being translated
into various languages will get printed and shipped on time.
