The Sword
The Bible is not just any book; rather, it’s the infallible Word of the Creator God. As such, it is a vital part of the Christian’s spiritual armor—a sword for us to use (Ephesians 6:17, ‘and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God’). And it’s not just any sword; rather it ‘is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart’ (Hebrews 4:12).We should not only use the Word of God to challenge unbelievers concerning their worldview, but also we should use it to challenge ourselves concerning our own as well. Do we have the proper understanding of what the Bible teaches, and are we using it to build a Biblical worldview? Are we allowing it to conform us to the image of Jesus Christ, our Savior? Do we, as Christians, believe the Bible as we should?
