Right people—wrong animals
This picture represents how a lot of children's books portray the Garden of Eden. We see Adam and Eve with modern domestic animals, such as a modern variety of cows, a poodle and a domestic cat. However, this picture plays into the hands of evolutionists, who reject the Bible's account of the Garden of Eden. Secular science classes teach that humans developed these varieties of animals in relatively recent times, and they use these changes to illustrate evolution. So putting the wrong type of animals in the Garden of Eden seriously challenges the Bible's accuracy in the minds of children.To be accurate, pictures of Adam and Eve should show them living beside the original kinds of animals that God created. The dog kind would have looked more like a wolf. The cat kind probably looked more like a lion or tiger. The cattle kind probably looked more like a buffalo. We see a more accurate portrayal of the animals in the Garden of Eden in the next illustration.
