The Reason—Part 2
Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas.
But let’s not forget, God’s Son would have no reason to step into history as our Saviour if not for the historical events in Genesis. Jesus came to this earth to pay the penalty for our sin—the sin that began with the first humans Adam & Eve. The celebration known as Christmas has its roots all the way back in Genesis. The promise of a Saviour was first made in Genesis 3:15:
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel.
We celebrate the literal coming of the Son of God to earth because of the literal events in Genesis. The gospel message begins in Genesis.
