Book of Books Soap Bible

Materials

• Travel size bar soap, 1 per child
• Black felt, amount varies
• Red yarn or ribbon, amount varies
• Cross stickers, 1 per child

Tools and Basic Supplies

• Office paper cutter or scissors
• Craft glue

Pre-Prep

• Cut black felt into rectangles just large enough to cover the bars of soap like a book cover (front, back, and “binding”).
• Cut red yarn or ribbon into pieces just long enough to simulate a bookmark sticking out by a ¼ inch top and bottom.

Class Time Directions

• Remove packaging from bar of soap.
• Apply craft glue to one side of the black felt.
• With the felt oriented horizontally in front of you, lay the piece of red yarn (or ribbon) vertically down the center of the felt. It should overhang evenly top and bottom.
• Lay the bar of soap vertically on the right side of the sticky felt almost touching the red yarn (or ribbon). Then wrap the other side of the sticky felt onto the top of the bar of soap.
• Add a cross sticker to the front of your soap Bible
