Time Flies Growth Chart

on July 24, 2018

Materials

  • Growth chart pattern (download below)
  • White card stock, 2 1/2 sheets per child
  • Star/space stickers, amounts vary
  • Gallon-size zippered baggies, 1 per child

Tools and Basic Supplies

  • Invisible or masking tape
  • Crayons or markers
  • Scissors
  • Office paper cutter (adults only)

Pre-Prep

  1. Photocopy the growth chart pattern (parts 1 and 2) onto white card stock and cut out. Using a paper cutter makes the job go much faster (adults only).

Class Time Directions

  1. Remind the kids that they will grow as time passes. Think about the clothes they wore as a baby. They don't fit in them anymore! And they won't fit in what they're wearing right now in 10 years. We grow and change a lot in 10 years' time. But of course, God never changes.
  2. Hold up a sample growth chart. Have them write their name on the rocket base in the blank space above the Bible verse.
  3. Color and decorate the chart using crayons, markers, and/or stickers.
  4. Tape the sections together on the back.
  5. Carefully fold and put in a zippered baggie to take home.

Tip Corner

  • You may want to use two rocket sections for toddlers instead of three.
  • Use a foam plate to hold pre-cut pieces of masking tape.
  • If time is short, tape the sections together after class and have the kids take them home the next day.
