The Beetle That Won’t Be Beat

If you’re the type to squash any bug in your path, beware the ironclad beetle, an insect with built-in armor strong enough to withstand 39,000 times its own body weight. That’s the equivalent of a human being able to carry about 40 battle tanks. Thanks to an intricate, interlocking exoskeletal “armor,” the beetle can withstand chomping lizards, pecking birds, and even moving cars. It’s nearly predator proof—unless the predator wants to try swallowing it whole.

Entomologist Michael Caterino asserts, “The possibility of using beetle-inspired designs for sturdier airplanes and other structures is intriguing.” Brilliant designs indicate a brilliant Designer. Since planes and buildings must be engineered by humans, we know these complex creatures had to be engineered by a Creator.
