Why Do People Believe Different Things?

Adam and Eve were the first people who decided to believe something different from God’s words. In the garden of Eden, Eve believed Satan and ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil after God had said not to. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they showed that they wanted to decide their own truth.

Since then, people throughout time have sinned by ignoring God’s truth and believing different things. Romans 1:18 says that people “suppress the truth” because they are sinners and don’t want to listen to God. The Bible tells us that we must believe God’s Word and put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus, who is the only way to heaven (John 14:6).

You can be sure that if you have any questions about God, Jesus, or how to get to heaven, the Bible has the answer. God decides truth, not humans. We must believe what God’s Word says.

Suppress
silence, block, push away

What are some different beliefs people have? What does the Bible say about those beliefs? (For example, someone might believe that humans are just animals, but the Bible tells us that God created humans in his image separate from the animals.)
