Answers in Genesis Honored with Two Major Media Awards Yesterday

“TV Program of the Year” and “Best Use of Multiple Media” for Answers TV

by Ken Ham on March 9, 2022

For the past several years, Answers in Genesis (AiG)—the organization behind the popular Ark Encounter and renowned Creation Museum—has been regularly recognized by the 1,100-member National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) for excellence in media. Yesterday in Nashville, the NRB—the world’s largest association of Christian communicators—announced the recipients of its 2022 awards for media excellence. AiG picked up two major awards, including “Television Program of the Year.”

“Television Program of the Year” Award: Hike & Seek

Hike & Seek, produced by and streamed exclusively on AiG’s streaming service, Answers TV, earned NRB’s “Television Program of the Year.” Hosted by wildlife filmmaker Peter Schriemer, Hike & Seek has been filming at a variety of locations over the past two years in an exploration of God’s creation. Schriemer is an engaging host who formerly created programs for the Smithsonian Channel and other outlets.

The NRB stated that its “Television Program of the Year” must display “unique vision and commitment to innovation and quality.” It should also engage “the culture in a compelling way.”

“Best Use of Multiple Media Award”: Answers TV Streaming Platform

During the pandemic, AiG in 2020 managed to launch an ambitious video platform, Answers TV. See www.answers.tv. In under two years, Answers TV has won NRB’s “Best Use of Multiple Media” award. Answers TV offers live and on-demand video content from AiG and its two renowned attractions, plus other ministries, to a worldwide audience. The service, at only $39.95 a year, can be streamed online, on Smart TVs, and on mobile devices through apps. High-quality videos—nearly 5,000 of them—support biblical authority, address crucial social issues like racism, and offer unique programming for children. Since launching the platform, Answers TV programs have been viewed by users more than 1.3 million times.

According to the NRB, the recipient of “Best Use of Multiple Media” demonstrates “exceptional creativity, innovation, and excellence in its use of at least three types of media, including television. Its campaign must advance a specific message, and its content and technical quality standards must be done to a standard of excellence.”

The NRB awards recognize the most outstanding ministries, organizations and programs/producers in Christian media.

The awards were presented at the NRB Media Awards Lunch yesterday at Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., as part of the annual NRB International Christian Media Convention.

“It’s so gratifying to have a national organization such as the NRB recognize our utilization of technology and the variety of ways it can now be used to communicate biblical truths,” said AiG founder and CEO Ken Ham. “Our excellent media teams strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology. Continuing to receive major awards such as these from the NRB is a blessing and a confirmation we’re achieving excellence.”

AiG's 2022 NRB Awards

In 2017, Ham, on behalf of AiG, was honored to receive the prestigious Billy Graham Award for Excellence in Christian Communications from the NRB at its Orlando, Florida convention.

Answers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e., Bible-defending) ministry based in Northern Kentucky, near Cincinnati. The organization publishes an award-winning family magazine called “Answers,” hosts one of the most popular religious websites in the world along with robust social media, and produces a daily radio broadcast (1,000 stations) and weekly TV program (the latter airs on Answers TV, the NRB Channel and other networks). AiG operates two popular attractions: the high-tech Creation Museum, located west of the Cincinnati Airport, and its sister attraction, the Ark Encounter with a full-size Ark as its centerpiece.
