Teaching Tie-In

Show the sample craft and say:

What shape do you see here? Take answers. Yes, a cross. What does a cross remind you of? Take answers, and remind them of God's great love for them.

Let's say today's Bible verse together. Do so, reciting Romans 5:8.

Let's make our cross to remind us of that great news.

Class Time Directions

  1. Take several pieces of tissue paper and crumple them up.
  2. Add glue stick to a section of the cross.
  3. Press pieces of crumpled tissue paper onto the glued section of the cross one at a time.
  4. Continue this process until the cross is completely covered.
  5. Use a mini suction cup to hang your lei cross in a window that gets plenty of sunlight.

Tip Corner

Mini suction cups with hooks can be found online or at craft stores.
