Pray for AiG

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18).

Dear praying friends of Answers in Genesis,

I believe 2009 will turn out to be a major turning point in our nation’s history. With new leadership in Washington, there are now many issues that all of us as Christians are dealing with. Those who don’t know the Lord are becoming more vocal and aggressive in sharing their anti-Christian faith, and sometimes it seems that the body of Christ is falling into obscurity.

One of the many battles facing us is the fact that 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his world-changing book On the Origin of Species. Sadly, many in the church are celebrating Darwin’s birthday and his evolutionary ideas. There is even a movement in England to make his birthday into a national holiday. It all seems so discouraging.

But we have to remember this: God is in control and is not taken by surprise. In a time when, in our human frailness, we may be tempted to withdraw from the battle and hide, God has an infallible plan, and in the midst of this, His Word instructs us to “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances.”

God is so good. When these words were penned by the apostle Paul nearly 2000 years ago, God knew we would be facing the issues we’re facing today. He also knew what it would take for us to deal with them.

In 2009 we need, and request, the prayers of God’s people more than ever. God has given Answers in Genesis more opportunities to minister on even larger scales than at any time in our 15-year history, and a vision for future ministry that is nothing short of amazing.

We are also making changes to this AiG Prayer site. AiG wants to better communicate with you, our prayer warriors. We also want to be able to take your prayer requests as well and make them available to everyone in order to bring it before the throne of God.

In order to accomplish the tasks that God has called us to, we need the prayers of the Lord’s people. Would you sign up and commit to pray daily and fast once a month? We would sincerely appreciate it.
