This week we’ve learned that work is a good thing. But we also discovered that we work in a sin-cursed and broken world. This should remind us of the “future rest” coming to those who trust in Christ.
Yes, a day is coming when there’ll no longer be a Curse. Our service to the Lord will be joyful and worshipful, just as it was for Adam and Eve—before their sin.
You see, Jesus came to earth to do his work—and he did it. That’s why he cried “it is finished” on the Cross. While on earth, he experienced all the trials of living in this cursed world, but joyfully served his Father even unto death. We need to follow his example as we look forward to our future rest, through Christ.
