Many Christians claim we can’t know if the days in Genesis were literal 24-hour days, or if they were long periods of time. But they don’t say this because the context is not clear!

Throughout the Old Testament, when day is used with a number, or with the words “evening, morning,” or “night,” it always means an ordinary day. Now, Genesis 1 contains all of those! And Exodus emphasizes: “for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth.”

Scripture is clear—creation happened over six 24-hour days. Christians only doubt this because they want to accept man’s ideas about the past. But we should trust God’s word, not man’s word.
