Transcript

We live in an Acts chapter seventeen culture. Now, here’s what I mean.

In Acts two, Peter had preached to a Jewish audience, beginning with Christ crucified. People listened . . . and many believed. Then, in Acts seventeen, Paul preached to a pagan audience. He couldn’t start with Christ . . . he had to start with God as the Creator.

You see, the Jewish audience already believed the Bible … and knew who God was. They had the foundation to understand the message of Christ.

But Paul’s pagan audience didn’t believe the Bible or know the one true God. They didn’t have the foundation for the gospel. He had to lay that first before presenting the gospel.
