Transcript

What did the early church believe about creation? Well, let’s start at the beginning—with the apostles. Paul describes Adam as the first man who brought death into creation. He connects Adam and his sin directly to Christ and his death. He ties the gospel into that history.

Paul also mentions Eve and treats her and her deception by Satan as history. He also grounds his teaching on marriage and family in the reality of how God created Adam and Eve.

Peter writes about creation and the flood as real events. He says that in the last days people will scoff at this.

According to the earliest Christians, Genesis is history.
