Some Bible maps give a location for the garden of Eden that’s usually in the Middle East near today’s Tigris and Euphrates rivers. But, does God’s Word actually tell us that?

Well, the Bible says God planted a garden “in the East, in Eden” and it says a river in Eden separated into four headwaters. Nothing like that exists today. That’s because the global flood destroyed the world before the flood, including Eden.

Now, we do have two rivers today, the Tigris and Euphrates, with the same names as two of Eden’s rivers. Now, that’s probably because Noah and his sons named new rivers after rivers from the old world, as people have done throughout history.
