Pictures of earth from space show a blue, green, and white ball, suspended from nothing in the inky blackness of space. Now, the idea of something hanging from nothing seems silly, without an understanding of the natural laws God created to govern the universe. That’s why many people in the past believed the earth must sit on something.
And yet consider this verse from the Old Testament book of Job, that God “hangs the earth on nothing.”
This verse expresses, through poetry, that God created earth, unsupported by any physical object. People in Job’s time might have thought that was a ridiculous idea and yet, we now know that’s true.
Yes, science always confirms the Bible.
