Have you ever heard someone say: “don’t like abortion? Don’t have one!” This is intended to shut down the discussion by saying: you have your opinion, and I have mine. We can both live by what we believe.
But is it as simple as that?
Well, what if someone said, “don’t like slavery? Then don’t own a slave!” Or: “don’t like rape? Don’t rape someone!” Can the slave owner or the rapist just do whatever they like? No!
Abortion is the taking of a human life. This isn’t just some issue of personal opinion with no real consequences. No, like slavery and rape, it’s an issue of a human life, right and wrong. And it has horrific consequences.
