Aeronautical Engineer, Speaker

In his day job, Kevin Hadsall is an aeronautical engineer, conducting acquisition systems engineering in support of the C-130J System Program Office (SPO). Kevin started his career in the US Air Force as a military officer by commissioning through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) in 2010 upon graduating from Wilkes University (Wilkes-Barre, PA) with a BS in mechanical engineering. He was first assigned to the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson AFB as a student and graduated with distinction in 2012, earning a MS in aeronautical engineering. From 2012 to 2017, Kevin completed various assignments at the Air Force Research Laboratory and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, earning various awards and decorations. He completed his last assignment in the C-130J SPO and transitioned from active duty military to civilian contractor in 2017 and continued working in the SPO. During his time both in uniform and out of uniform, Kevin led systems engineering efforts for a multitude of C-130J avionics upgrade programs, including a high-visibility program that was necessary to meet transponder-related Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Defense mandates, which enabled the entire USAF fleet of 200+ combat delivery and special mission C-130J aircraft to stay operational into the 2020s.

For the first 22 years of his life, Kevin did not know Jesus. He knew little about the Bible but was confronted with the gospel in the fall of 2010. Gospel means “good news,” but for a while, Kevin struggled with the “bad news” in the Bible—the fact that he and everyone else in the world inherently deserve the eternal wrath of God for sinning against him. One day in late February 2011, Kevin cried out to God, confessing that he only saw bad news instead of good news, and he asked God to help him know the truth, no matter how hard it would be. Shortly thereafter, God opened Kevin’s eyes, and Kevin truly came to know the good news. God the Son, Jesus Christ, lived a perfectly holy and righteous life, and yet he took the punishment that Kevin deserved by dying on the cross so that he could be forgiven of his sins. Jesus then rose from the dead, proving to the world that he is Lord of all creation and guaranteeing eternal life for Kevin and all others who trust in him. Kevin came to know the truth (John 14:6), the truth set him free (John 8:32), and he became a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

During Kevin’s first year as a new believer, he struggled with the Genesis accounts of the six-day creation and global flood. Kevin grew up believing in the evolutionary timeline due to his secular education in high school and college. After praying about this issue, a fellow believer told Kevin about creation apologetics ministries such as Answers in Genesis. He started reading articles on the Answers in Genesis website in the summer of 2011 and visited the Creation Museum for the first time in September of that year. The Creation Museum and creation apologetics resources were instrumental in solidifying Kevin’s faith in the authority of God’s Word starting in Genesis. To this day, he continues to regularly study creation apologetics resources. In December 2012, Kevin was inspired to speak on creation apologetics when he met a twelve-year-old boy who doubted God’s Word because he was being taught that humans evolved from apelike creatures. Since March 2013, he has been presenting on creation apologetics to various churches and small groups, mostly in the Dayton, Ohio, area. Kevin has a passion for using creation apologetics to proclaim the gospel and equip the church to defend God’s Word and answer skeptical questions.

Kevin is married to Melody Hadsall, who has a PhD in applied mathematics from the Air Force Institute of Technology . . . proof that there is always a wiser woman behind the man! Kevin and Melody live near Dayton, Ohio, and have two sons.
