Communication in the 21st Century

I have officially entered the world of social media! I now have a Facebook fan page and a Twitter account. I will admit I was a bit apprehensive about this. Although I am not yet 40, I can remember when it was a big deal to go to a friend’s house and play on their home computer. I can remember in junior high going to the new computer lab and playing the game “Lemonade Stand” on something called an Apple. I remember the days when a floppy disk was truly floppy. I remember when the World Wide Web did not exist (and now I cannot imagine life without its existence!).

I think it is important to use these new tools of communication to reach people where there are at. As Paul said, “I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22). I know that God is using this blog to reach a couple hundred people each week (and hopefully more in the future) that I may not have had contact with otherwise. My prayer is that the blog posts, tweets, and Facebook posts will be used by God for His glory to encourage Christians to embrace the authority of God’s Word and bring unbelievers to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
