Mary in Iraq

A couple of months ago, my oldest daughter Mary called me and asked what I would think if she went to Iraq this summer. I briefly thought about confiscating her passport and locking her in a closet, but then I realized this wouldn’t stop her from going if she’d already set her mind on it. So I just said, “Sounds like fun.”

Mary is going to be working with two other ESL instructors to train English teachers in Kurdistan (northern Iraq). Right now, she is emailing and video chatting with her co-teachers to work out their lesson plans. She’s excited about working with the team.

I’m helping Mary put together a website so she can post pictures and regale us all with stories about 125-degree weather. Now if I can just find where she hid her passport . . .
