Deaf Garcia Family

Deaf Garcia Family

Stars of A&E's Deaf Out Loud

The Garcias are a deaf and hearing family based in Georgetown, Texas, that speak and sign. Married for 15 years, April and Paco are parents to six children. Paco has been deaf since birth. April, who was born hearing to deaf parents, is now hard of hearing. Of their six kids, four are deaf and two are hearing. Four of them are adopted.

The Garcias’ ministry, Hope’s Lighthouse, provides advocacy and support for deaf children in foster care along with their siblings. The Garcias are passionate about adoption and serving God by ministering to deaf children in need. Amora, one of the Garcia children, is 19 years old and is deaf. Born into foster care, she was adopted at the age of six. At the time of adoption, she had no language and did not even know her own name. She has since graduated from Texas School for the Deaf and is passionate about Deaf mission work and sharing her story to help spark change in the foster care system for deaf children.
