His work has also included investigations into the fundamental link between thermodynamics and information, and in the last few years he has been involved in research in the area of biomimetics where the minute combustion chamber of the bombardier beetle has inspired a patented novel spray technology with applications to fuel injectors, pharmaceutical sprays, fire extinguishers and aerosols. This research was awarded the 2010 Times Higher Educational award for the Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology.

Andy became a Christian in 1969 and is committed to a belief in the Biblical Creation account maintaining that Genesis is crucial to our understanding of the Gospel. Rev. Ian McNaughton

Rev. Ian McNaughton

Rev. Ian McNaughton is Chairman of Answers in Genesis (UK/Europe) and has been a Board member since 1993. He is a Bible teacher and preacher, and he holds a Th.M degree from Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. He is fully resolved in his belief that the Bible is the Word of God being true from the very first verse in Genesis chapter 1 which is fully reliable in fact as well as doctrine. He delights to speak about the authority, accuracy and authenticity of the Holy Scriptures as being totally trustworthy, dependable and inerrant. As a pastor and theologian he is fully aware of the folly of denying the truths of the Word of God leading to the acceptance of unproven scientific models and hypotheses which result in unbelief and is conscious of the trend in some “evangelical” circles which confuses the issue of plenary inspiration by promoting a low view of the Holy Scriptures.

Ian became a Christian at the age of 19 and was called into the Christian ministry after studying theology in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has co-authored the book, Darwin & Darwinism: 150 years later, (Day One, 2009) dealing with the topics of Darwin’s worldview, six-day creation and theistic evolution. He has had articles published in Reformation Today and Evangelical Times; authored Opening-Up Commentaries, Colossians and Philemon (Day One, 2006) and 2 Thessalonians (Day One, 2008) and published creationist literature in Albanian, Hungarian and Czech. He has creationist talks on the following themes:

  • Noah’s Ark
  • Was Adam Real?
  • In Six days
  • Biblical Argument Against Darwinism
  • Can We Trust the Bible?
